Dr Georgios Kostakos

expert on issues of international governance and climate change, entitled: “from Rio 92 to the European Green Deal: Action against climate change at global and European level – achievements and challenges” to be held on Wednesday 8 January 2020 at 15.00 in room 319 (Law School building).

Dr. Georgios Koskakos (graduate of the School of Mechanical Engineering of the NTUA and PhD in international relations at the University of Kent -UK) has served with the UN Secretariat in New York between 2000-2012 and on UN missions around the world during the period 1994-96. He has also worked with the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and the University of Athens. In the last four years, he has been a thematic coordinator for climate action with the European consortium Neemo EEIG, which monitors the implementation of actions financed by the EU’s LIFE programme. He has co-founded and directs the Foundation for Global Governance and Sustainability (FOGGS) based in Brussels.
